| Now that the play's over, I have an amazing thing in my life called free time. It's great.
THE VAMPYRE was great. Every show (with the possible exception of Friday's) went really well, and I got to see a ton of people who I haven't been around in quite some time, like Furlough, Clayton, and all of my Epstein buds. Despite the rough patches, it was still a good experience overall, and I can't wait for "Alice in Wonderland" (I'm in the band for that one) and for musical.
What else...on Monday, Mme Olstin handed me a letter in class saying that I had been chosen for Woodward's French Honor Society. Woot.
This week has been pretty good so far. Yearbook club pictures on Monday and Tuesday, "Hamlet" in English, "Rue Cases-Nègres" in French, quantum crap in Chem...it just goes on and on and on...
Now that I don't have rehearsal everyday, I can run after school and attempt to be in some semblance of shape. Booyah.
Gotta go, homework calls....
| Aarrghhhh. Hell week is kicking my ass....
So, so, so, so tired. So very tired right now.
And I still have to finish my GHP application. In the words of Hamlet, "Buzz, buzz."
| And so Hell Week Fall 2005 begins....
Last week was one of the most crazy/intese/f'ed up ones I've ever lived. Where to begin?
Making up for Rosh Hashanah wasn't bad at all. I was surprised. Last weekend, I went to rehearsal on Saturday, then to Mr. A and Mr. Rutherford's "Dueling Pianos" (yes, I realize I am a chorus nerd). Can't really remember Sunday.
Then came this week's biggest crap of all: me and Lauren. For those of you non-Woodwardians, Lauren and I broke up for approximately 36 hours Monday/Tuesday. It was over a bunch of stupid crap that suffice to say we've now gotten over. We've become a lot better because of the whole experience. Basically, 's all good now.
Next: Yom Kippur! Not bad overall, though services were long. Fun times chez Matt that night.
On Friday, we left for DC for my cousin Emily's bat mitzvah. It was a lot of fun -- I read Torah on Saturday morning for her service, had a long talk with Danielle (my cousin who's living with us) about life, went running and worked out Saturday afternoon, got crunk at the party, then stayed with my grandparents last night.
Early this morning, I flew back to Atlanta and drove straight to school for...DUM DUM DUMMMMMMMM....HELL WEEK! The Curse of the Suit has struck again, in that I am yet again wearing a suit for a costume, just like in literally every production I have been in at Woodward. The run tonight was very weird, since Mr. P was filling in for Trey as the lead...and he couldn't read the script because the lighting is so low. Whatevs.
Just so you guys know, THE VAMPYRE is playing at Woodward Thursday-Saturday at 7.40 pm and on Sunday at 2.30. It's really really cool, so if you guys get the chance, definitely go see it.
Let the week of sleep deprivation begin....
| Back to the ol' Xanga once again.
These past few weeks have been crazy. Just a nonstop, action-packed adventure that I remember surprisingly little of. I forget things when I'm under stress.
Where shall I begin?
How 'bout Peer Activity Day two Fridays ago. Pretty good time overall, though we have one "problem freshman" that needs to be dealt with. I have a feeling my suggestion of "showing him who's boss" won't fly so well with Mrs. Graham. That weekend consisted of set construction, seeing Flightplan with Jill, and a USY kidnap breakfast that went pretty well. Sunday afternoon I went to Melissa's goodbye party.
After that, a pretty uneventful week...rehearsals, etc. But I got nominated for GHP for French! BOOYAH!
Then, last weekend: ALLMAN BROS. CONCERT! Serious good times with Eric and Kathi and Jill, what with the lack of disrespect and the dancing number 22 and me losing the piece of my watch. And the entire frickin' Jewish teen community there. Slept over chez Eric, then went the next day to the Zoo with USY. Not too bad. Came home, did HW, went out to dinner with the fam.
This week: Rosh Hashanah. That's right, the High Holidays are upon us, which means only one thing: FOOD! Just kidding. Not really. The past 2 days were pretty kickass. Monday night I went to Nadav's house and chilled with a bunch of Israelis. Services yesterday (I read Torah and led part of the teen service), then home for the huge lunch/dinner we throw every year, with Matt, Nathan, Daniel, Ben, Jacob, and Melissa's families (HCC! Oud! Tanya!). Today was basically the same thing, though we all went over to Nathan and Daniel's house. A bit different, what with Nathan pegging Matt square in the crotch during our game of football (or skankball, from Mel's point of view). Long story. It was weird, I dunno. I had to say goodbye to Mel, though. That was really, really rough. I'm gonna miss my little sis a lot.
Tonight, I went to some friend of Matt's house for a LOST party. Matt Gardner was there, too. Good times.
And now, I leave my Jewish bubble and re-enter the real world. Urgh, so much work to make up...
| Being home sick on a Saturday night sucks. Muchly.
Thursday night, I was doing my homework when I suddenly became acutely aware of how much I wanted to hurl. I went to bed that night at 9 and woke up at 7:30 the next day. I felt bad during the day but much better during rehearsal.
The game last night was so-so. I hung out with Caitlin and Ross for most of it, then Jill and I decided to get some food at WaHo since we both were starving. While we were there Ally D came in and told us that we lost the game 16-6. Darn. But the halftime show was great.
Today I went to go see LSel's show. And though it took me almost an hour and a half to get there, it was more than worth it -- she was amazing as Belle.Wow. All I can say.
So tonight I drove around East Cobb looking for a Blockbuster that had "Age of Innocence" (Mr. P wants me to watch it to get some ideas for my character). None had it. So I've been chilling. And being bored out of my mind.
College fair tomorrow. Fun fun....
